RUSSIAN WORK PERMIT
By Russian Federal Immigration Law all foreign citizens, coming to Russia to work, are obliged to have work permit and work visa. Work permit allows to work in Russia, work visa allows to enter Russia.

Standard Russian Work Permit is the general Russian work permit. It is valid for the length of the employment contract.

The issue period is apprx. 2-3 calendar months.

Validity period is one (1) year.

The Holder is obliged to renew Russian work visa annually, if the job lasts longer than a year.

The Medical Certificate and Russian Language Skills Certificate are required.
Russian Work Permit for Highly Qualified Specialists (HQS) is special Russian work permit for highly- skilled professions with gross monthly salary more than 160 000 Rubles.

The issue period is apprx. 15 working days.

Validity period is three (3) years. It can be extended for another 3 years prior to the expiry of the HQS visa.

It entitles all relatives including spouses, children and parents for Russian visas.

The Medical Certificate and Russian Language Skills Certificate are not required.
Documents required to submit for Work Permit

Color photo.

Legalized and translated copy of the national passport (Main page and page with permanent registration).

Medical certificate, stating that you do not suffer from infectious diseases (including HIV) or drug addiction. (ONLY FOR STANDARD WORK PERMIT APPLICANTS).

Russian Language Skills Certificate (ONLY FOR STANDARD WORK PERMIT APPLICANTS).
Pls. note
Upon receiving an FMS Invitation, FOR RUSSIAN WORK PERMIT AND RUSSIAN WORK VISA you need to applly to the Russian Consulate or Embassy in the country of your permanent residence.
TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PERMIT (TRP)
A temporary residence permit (TRP) gives foreign citizens the right to reside and work in Russia before obtaining a permanent residence permit.
It takes about 6 months to acquire and is valid for 3 years with no prolongation. In terms of work this document is strictly territory-wise, so the foreign citizen is obliged to work within this constituent unit of the Russian Federation (city, region, republic etc.) where this document has been issued.
BENEFITS OF TRP
• Foreign national no longer needs a visa.
• Foreign national may establish yourself as a self-employed entrepreneur in Russia and receive independent income.
• Foreign national no longer needs a work permit to be allowed to work in Russia.
• Foreign national will be entitled to free medical care in public hospitals.
• After few years foreign national may apply for Permanent Residence Permit.
PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMIT (PRP)
After living upon TRP for 2.5 years, foreign national is entitled to apply for a permanent residence permit.
Permanent residency grants right to the foreign national to reside permanently in the Russian Federation and the right of free entry to and exit from the Russian Federation, without visa. Foreign national like any other citizens of Russia, enjoy almost all rights, including the freedom to choose the territorial entity for stay and work.
PRP is valid for 5 years with unlimited renewals every five years. Having living on PRP for 5 (five) years, foreign national is entitled to apply for Russian citizenship.
The main requirement for the PRP is previous residence on Russian TRP for at least 1 year. The exclusion is highly qualified professionals, that might shift to PRP, escaping TRP stage.
